Project Overview
"The OASIS" is the passion project I completed in Graphic Design II for TDUX, aimed at creating a supportive environment for kids to play basketball, receive mentoring and tutoring, and ultimately gain access to full-ride scholarships for college. To promote the initiative, I designed a billboard that captures attention and conveys the mission of the project. The goal of the billboard is to inspire viewers with the promise of opportunity and success, using a bold, dynamic design to engage passersby.
Problem: The challenge was to create a billboard that effectively communicated the mission of The OASIS while capturing the attention of both young athletes and their families. The design needed to balance the themes of sports and education, appealing to students who aspire to excel both on the court and in the classroom. The goal was to create a visually compelling message that encourages kids to dream big and pursue their goals.
Role: I was responsible for the concept development, wireframing, and final design of the billboard. I focused on creating an impactful visual that combined basketball imagery with educational symbols to highlight the program’s dual focus on athletics and academics.
Learnings: This project helped me refine my skills in creating impactful visual designs with limited space. I learned how to communicate multiple themes such as sports and education, effectively in a cohesive design. Additionally, I gained experience in prototyping and applying visual hierarchy principles to large-scale visual projects.
Skills: Graphic Design, Visual Hierarchy, Typography and Color Theory
