Project Overview
During my internship at Rack Room Shoes, I was tasked with designing an interface that streamlined the shoe sizing process, particularly for unisex styles such as Crocs. The objective was to simplify the screen where customers select their shoe size and width, reducing confusion and making the process more user-friendly. This design aimed to enhance the overall shopping experience by creating a more concise and intuitive interface.
Problem: The existing sizing interface presented to customers lacked clarity, leading to confusion during the shoe selection process. Unisex shoes, such as Crocs, required a more simplified approach that accommodated both men's, women's, and children's sizes, while also clearly presenting width options. The challenge was to design a more concise screen that reduced friction and ensured a smoother, faster selection process.
Role: I worked as the UX Design intern and led the design efforts for the unisex sizing interface, focusing on wireframing, prototyping, and ensuring that the design was accessible and easy for customers to use.
Learnings: I learned the importance of simplifying complex user interfaces for clarity and efficiency. Through this project, I also gained insights into designing for inclusivity, ensuring the interface accommodated a wide range of users.
